A special training course for Ukrainian-speakers was held on 19-20 June, to reach those helping Ukrainian children affected by the war there.
This online training, taught in Ukrainian, was attended by in-country colleagues from the Salvation Army, War Child and Future for Ukraine. Others trainees included a group from the Bergen Centre for Migrational Health, which supports Ukrainian refugees in Norway; and a group from the Sunflower School in Milton Keynes, a Saturday school which offers classes for Ukrainian children displaced by the conflict.
The training was led by our co-founder Laura Timms and Professor Dennis Ougrin from Queen Mary University of London. It covered the essentials of our Teaching Recovery Techniques (TRT), which enable children to cope with the psychological effects of wars and other catastrophic events.
