“We are delighted to add new expertise to our Board of Trustees as we build a bold future for CAW UK.”
We are very pleased to announce the appointment of six new trustees to help us expand our work in support of children traumatised by war and other catastrophic events.
Together they bring invaluable experience in psychology and mental health, international charities, campaigns and communications, organisational development and more.
This month we are joined by:
- Lorie Halliday (picture 5), charity leader and human rights journalist, Executive Director at Kanlungan Filipino Consortium: “I have always been committed to children’s welfare and their right to live a safe and stable life. Being part of CAW UK is an opportunity for me to continue helping innocent victims of wars who deserve a better future.”
- Alex Hannaby (picture 6), music industry professional and mentor, Head of UK for Big Machine Label Group: “I am thrilled to join CAW UK as a trustee and contribute to their vital mission of supporting children in challenging circumstances. Their dedication to making a meaningful impact in young lives is truly inspiring, and I look forward to supporting such important work.”
- Jo Lehmann (picture 4), senior communications leader and former journalist, Head of Communications for St Andrew’s Healthcare: “I’m delighted to be joining the Board at CAW UK in what is an important time for the Charity, as we embark on our journey of helping more and more children affected by war, conflict and other traumatic events. The trustee role combines my experience in the international development field, with my work in the mental health sector. I’ll be bringing my expertise in communications to help enhance CAW’s brand, so together we can help more traumatised children find hope for their futures.”
- Mark Roe (picture 3), leader in risk management, operational resilience and corporate culture, Executive Director at Nomura: “CAW UK provides essential support to young people who have faced trauma in their lives. I’m excited to be joining such a well-regarded charity and working with a strong team of people to help continue this important work.”
- John Smith (picture 2), international risk and security expert, board member of Hostage US: “Having supported families experiencing continuing trauma through hostage situations, I want to help CAW UK in their training of those who must deal first-hand with the effects of war on children.”
- Sarah Trevathan (picture 1), advocate for vulnerable communities internationally, psychotherapist and clinical manager: “I’m honoured to join the Board at CAW UK, assisting the team to support more children to overcome the unthinkable. This trustee role calls upon my international experience in humanitarian mental health expertise and managment, specifically with traumatised children fleeing war zones and torture. CAW UK’s approach supports more vulnerable children to heal, opening the possibility of the welfare and recovery they deserve.”
