Over £4,500 was raised at a talk about the endurance of the people of Ukraine on 1 December.
Catherine Cox, a Jungian psychoanalyst and long-standing supporter of the charity, gave an inspiring account of her recent journey to Ukraine, illustrated by remarkable pictures from Odessa, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Nikolaev and other locations.
She told stories – moving and often harrowing – about the lives of ordinary Ukrainians and their courageous attempts to cope with living in a state of war. The traumas inflicted on families and their children were described in graphic detail.
During the talk she shared photos she had taken at an exhibition about the effect of the war on Ukrainian children. The photos were accompanied by reflections from the children on what the war had meant to them.

Her audience were not just deeply moved, they were inspired to give generously to Children and War UK, whose presence in Ukraine over the past eight years has had a huge impact. Thanks to their generosity, over £4,500 was raised.
We would like to say a huge thank you to those who donated so much – and to Catherine for showing us the suffering and resilience of the Ukrainian people.
