Jenny Luckock and her friends Mariana Birchall, Lena Have, Ally Gabriele, Katie Routledge are training with a purpose – to raise £20,000 for Children and War UK. They’ve signed up for the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 9, 2022. Jenny says: ‘This Half Marathon distance [21.098 km] is not a new challenge for any of us, but this time we are challenging ourselves in a different way. ‘Our goal is not to achieve a new Personal Best time, but to raise funds to support the many children in need of psychological help due to a sadly increasing number of wars and tragedies.’ The five friends are based in Geneva. They have developed a particularly close bond through their love of running, training, pushing themselves and each other. Jenny says: ‘I felt a call to get involved, and even more so after seeing first-hand the impacts of the war in Ukraine on refugees directly here in Geneva, Switzerland.’

Help these runners raise £20,000 for Children and War UK

You can help Jenny, Mariana, Lena, Ally and Katie reach their target by visiting Jenny Luckock’s JustGiving page and making a donation. You can leave a message too! Your contribution will help Children and War UK reach many more children traumatised by war, and ensure they get vital psychological help. Thank you.

What we do makes a difference

Now more than ever, children need help to cope with the trauma they’re experiencing.

Children and War UK is working to give them essential tools to reduce the long-term effects of traumatic stress.

Thank you.
