Where we work

Wherever children are affected by conflicts and other disasters, we can help.

In recent years, Children and War UK has helped children and their carers internationally and in the UK. Some are still in danger, others have found a safe place in their own countries or in exile.

A major focus in the past few years has been Ukraine, where we started working in 2014 and intensified our operations after the Russian invasion in 2022.

Within Ukraine, we have worked with an in-country partner based in Lviv to provide specialised training for hundreds of professional and lay people, month by month. For Ukrainians in exile, we have run training sessions with carers in Poland and Estonia. And in the UK, we’re working with Ukrainian colleagues to support displaced Ukrainian children.

In the UK we continue to train carers to help children affected by traumatic stress. For example in Northern Ireland, we are supporting an impressive group who are working with a range of children, including unaccompanied minors and the traumatically bereaved.

What we do makes a difference

Now more than ever, children need help to cope with the trauma they're experiencing.

Children and War UK is working to give them essential tools to reduce the long-term effects of traumatic stress.

Thank you.
